Project Overview:
Kollarna, a subsidiary of Doktor.Se, presented us with an exciting challenge: designing their new birth control (P-Piller) category page using the Doktor.Se design system and components. This task aimed to align the page with the Doktor.Se brand, preparing for a comprehensive brand transition across all category sites in the future. A crucial aspect of this challenge was striking a delicate balance between conformity to the Doktor.Se brand and preserving Kollarna's distinctive visual language, which differs significantly from Doktor.Se's, while seamlessly integrating it into the Doktor.Se ecosystem.
Leveraging the Power of Design Systems:
We began by immersing ourselves in the Doktor.Se design system. This allowed us to harness the well-established visual and functional elements that define the Doktor.Se brand. By doing so, we ensured a consistent user experience across both brands.
Preserving Kollarna's Identity:
While embracing the Doktor.Se design system, we were mindful of Kollarna's unique position in the medical industry. We retained key elements and color schemes associated with the birth control category to provide a sense of continuity for existing users. This approach allowed us to maintain Kollarna's brand integrity while transitioning to Doktor.Se's aesthetics.
Going live
The collaborative effort between Kollarna, Doktor.Se, and our design team has resulted in a birth control category page that successfully bridges the gap between two reputable brands. Users can now enjoy a consistent and intuitive experience while exploring birth control options.
Component Transition Plan: Due to development and release constraints, we made a strategic decision to retain Kollarna's existing components for the initial launch. However, it's important to note that this is just the beginning of our journey towards full alignment with the Doktor.Se brand. We have a comprehensive component transition plan in place, ensuring that Kollarna's birth control category page will seamlessly integrate with Doktor.Se's components in the future.
